Nora Stone began acting as a child in professional musical theater, cast in such classics as The Sound of Music, Camelot, Oliver and The King and I. She continued honing her craft at the University of Massachusetts/ Amherst and the University of California/ Santa Barbara with a double major in Creative Writing.

After graduating with high honors, Nora began working in Los Angeles in commercials, TV and film, including several roles on the long-running serial Days of our Lives.

In 1991, Nora founded InStone Actors Studio, creating an innovative approach to coaching students in the craft of acting. This rigorous technique allows for thorough access to the distinctions of the craft, creating in the student a sense of confidence and accomplishment. Scene study, improvisation, cold reading, monologue technique, script analysis and character creation are among the topics studied.

Nora Stone served as the Director of Acting at the New York Film Academy from 2000 - 2004, where she instituted many program innovations. She remains on staff as a core acting instructor.

Nora's respect for each individual's creative process allows for a learning environment which prepares students for a successful entry and longevity in the entertainment industry. The work is fulfilling and is a constant source of discovery and delight for InStone Actors Studio founder and head coach.
